I started The Honest Homesteader because there doesn’t seem to be another website out there for people like me. You know, the non-crunchy granola type, who doesn’t have the money to buy everything organic, but who still wants to learn basic homesteading. Who doesn’t know the first thing about gardening, but is willing to plant some seeds in the ground and learn as she goes. Who has a desire to live as much from the land as she can while still appreciating modern comforts, like air conditioning and Dove soap. In my search of other homesteading blogs, I just seemed to find a bunch of people who had it all together and figured out and made their own soap and lotion and all I kept wanting to find was one I could relate to.
